Pete Letherman, CCIM, Senior Vice President at FM Stone Commercial, has been accepted into The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). SIOR is the world’s leading professional commercial and industrial real estate association. With more than 3,000 members in more than 630 cities in 29 countries, SIOR represents today's most knowledgeable, experienced and successful commercial real estate brokerage specialists. With the addition of Letherman’s SIOR designation, FM Stone now has five of its seven brokers holding designations to this prestigious organization.
Letherman joined FM Stone Commercial in 1995, shortly after receiving his degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. Licensed in both Indiana and Michigan, Letherman specializes in the acquisition and disposition of industrial and investment properties located in Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan. He is a fourth generation realtor who also has extensive experience in retail and land development, having completed multiple transactions for companies seeking locations throughout northern Indiana and southwest Michigan.
Real estate professionals who have earned the SIOR designation are recognized by corporate real estate executives, commercial real estate brokers, agents, lenders and other real estate professionals as the most capable and experienced brokerage practitioners in the market. A professional affiliate of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), SIOR is dedicated to the practice and maintenance of the highest professional and ethical standards. SIOR maintains a commitment to business and industry by providing outstanding professional services, publications, and educational programs.
In 2000, Letherman also earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. CCIMs have completed a designation curriculum that covers ethics, interest-based negotiation, financial analysis, market analysis, user-decision analysis, and investment analysis for commercial investment real estate. CCIMs must complete a portfolio demonstrating the depth of their commercial real estate experience and sit for a comprehensive examination.
Letherman is also passionately involved in the Sweet Pea Foundation (sweetpeafoundation.org), an organization he and his wife Suzanne founded in 2003 in the memory of their daughter Grace Elizabeth Letherman. The Sweet Pea Foundation supports organizations and charities that help sick children and their families. The nonprofit gives back 100% of its contributions. To date it has donated almost 7,750 toys, 700-plus books and hundreds of items sick children might find happiness in receiving.
