City of Goshen Buys Indoor Shooting Range For Police Dept.
6-13-2018 -- The City of Goshen is the new owner of the indoor shooting range at 713 & 715 E. Lincoln Avenue in Goshen. The property, known previously as Shoot to Thrill shooting range and Rocket Guns, has three buildings totaling 11,632 SF on 1.08 acres. The city intends to have the shooting range used by the Goshen police department which has not had access to its own dedicated range in over 20 years. The police department will also use the other buildings for training and educational purposes.
The sale was endorsed by the Goshen police at a September 2017 Goshen City Council meeting. At that time Goshen Police Chief Wade Branson said the opportunity was “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to obtain a high-tech training facility that includes a firing range at, I believe, an extremely reduced price. I think if this chance goes by us, we will never, ever, have this opportunity again.” The city purchased the property, which is estimated to cost $1.5 million to build, for $385,000. Truma Expands in Elkhart
4-17-2018 -- Truma is expanding in Elkhart. The system supplier of heaters, air conditioning systems, hot water generators, maneuvering assistants and gas supply for the recreational vehicles industry purchased 5.04 acres at 13 Harman Drive in Elkhart. The 69-year-old company plans to build its permanent North American headquarters at this site along County Road 6, near County Road 17. The new headquarters is expected to be open in the fall of 2018 and will feature state-of-the-art offices, a warehouse and a customer service center for RV owners. Truma, which gets its name from former president Harry S. Truman, first came to Elkhart in 2013.
“Truma chose to build in Elkhart because we want to show our commitment to the local manufacturers and the RV industry,” said Gerhard Hundsberger, president and CEO of Truma North America. “RV manufacturers, dealers and RV owners love Truma products, which has resulted in tremendous growth for us. We are excited to expand to a larger location with more space so we can hire additional staff and continue to bring innovative products and services to the North American RV industry.”

Kibby Excavating Buys Land
4-11-2018 -- Kibby Excavating Inc. is the new owner of 10.184 acres at 17225 CR 40 in Goshen. Brent Miller, SIOR, and Richard Hobson represented the seller, LMA Huf Development, LLC and Scott Griffith represented Kibby Excavating, Inc. in the deal. Initially Kibby Excavating expects to use the site for storage of excavation equipment and construction materials. Eventually the company hopes to make the site into its new location with a building and equipment maintenance facility/offices on site. The company also may develop some of the land for RV storage for leasing out to transport companies.
Kibby Excavating is owned and operated by Scott and Larry McKibbin of Goshen and has been in business for almost five years. Larry McKibbin had been in the excavation business for over 40 years at McKibbin Brothers prior to forming Kibby Excavating Inc. with his son Scott.
Dexter Axle Buys Land
12-11-2017 -- The 6.81-acre parcel of industrial land directly east of the Dexter Axle facility at 2900 Industrial Parkway in Elkhart was purchased by Dexter Axle for expansion purposes. Known as Lot 2 in the Maywell Industrial Park, the land was previously owned by Owens Corning. Brent Miller, SIOR, and Ross Miller, SIOR, assisted in the sale.
