FM Stone’s Pete Letherman Accepted as SIOR

Pete Letherman, CCIM, Senior Vice President at FM Stone Commercial, has been accepted into The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). SIOR is the world’s leading professional commercial and industrial real estate association. With more than 3,000 members in more than 630 cities in 29 countries, SIOR represents today's most knowledgeable, experienced and successful commercial real estate brokerage specialists. With the addition of Letherman’s SIOR designation, FM Stone now has five of its seven brokers holding designations to this prestigious organization.

Letherman joined FM Stone Commercial in 1995, shortly after receiving his degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. Licensed in both Indiana and Michigan, Letherman specializes in the acquisition and disposition of industrial and investment properties located in Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan. He is a fourth generation realtor who also has extensive experience in retail and land development, having completed multiple transactions for companies seeking locations throughout northern Indiana and southwest Michigan.

Real estate professionals who have earned the SIOR designation are recognized by corporate real estate executives, commercial real estate brokers, agents, lenders and other real estate professionals as the most capable and experienced brokerage practitioners in the market. A professional affiliate of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), SIOR is dedicated to the practice and maintenance of the highest professional and ethical standards. SIOR maintains a commitment to business and industry by providing outstanding professional services, publications, and educational programs.

In 2000, Letherman also earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. CCIMs have completed a designation curriculum that covers ethics, interest-based negotiation, financial analysis, market analysis, user-decision analysis, and investment analysis for commercial investment real estate. CCIMs must complete a portfolio demonstrating the depth of their commercial real estate experience and sit for a comprehensive examination.

Letherman is also passionately involved in the Sweet Pea Foundation (sweetpeafoundation.org), an organization he and his wife Suzanne founded in 2003 in the memory of their daughter Grace Elizabeth Letherman. The Sweet Pea Foundation supports organizations and charities that help sick children and their families. The nonprofit gives back 100% of its contributions. To date it has donated almost 7,750 toys, 700-plus books and hundreds of items sick children might find happiness in receiving. 

FM Stone Sells 102,062 SF Industrial Facility

Pete Letherman, CCIM, Senior Vice President with FM Stone Commercial sold the former Pilgrim plant at 14489 US 20 in Middlebury to investor Chicago Lands, LLC. The 102,062-square-foot industrial facility is on 16 acres. The building was once home to Marlette Homes, a Coachman company, in the 1980s.

The seller, HNHB, LLC, had been leasing the building to Bullseye Industrial Sales. Bullseye is now leasing space at 221 W. US 20 in Middlebury. Chicago Lands LLC intends to lease its new space to a tenant in the metals business. 

Middlebury Building Sold to Forest River

FM Stone Commercial, a local commercial real estate services firm, is proud to announce that one of its team has sold the manufacturing/warehouse building at 11555 Harder Drive in Middlebury.

Pete Letherman, Senior Vice President at FM Stone, represented Forest River Inc. in the purchase of the 127,854-square-foot building. One of the former Pace American buildings, the property sits on 15.18 acres and features 26-foot ceilings, four docks and 23 overhead doors.

Headquartered in Elkhart, Forest River is a manufacturer of RVs, cargo and utility trailers, pontoon boats, light and medium-duty buses, portable structures and offices, and manufactured housing units. The company is expected to use the Harder Drive building for future expansion needs. 

FM Stone Commercial Moves

ELKHART, Ind. (February 27, 2012) – FM Stone Commercial, a local commercial real estate services firm, and its parent company, The Tiedemann Group, proudly announce their move into 7,148 SF of newly constructed offices in Suite 175 of the Lexington Business Centre, 530 E. Lexington Avenue in Elkhart.

The space was transformed over 15 weeks by the FM Construction team and the following contractors: Select Drywall & Paint did all drywall; Gaylor was the electrical contractor; Griffen Plumbing & Heating did all plumbing work; and Stahl Heating & Air Conditioning did all HVAC work. LaSalle Bristol provided all floor coverings.

“Our commitment since the beginning has been to do things right. We think you will agree when you see the quality finishes and high-tech amenities this space has to offer,” said Carl Tiedemann, CEO & President. “We partnered with Acruity Business Consulting in order to create a state-of-the-art, technologically-savvy environment. We also teamed up with Business Furnishings and interior designer Jennifer Franklin for help with color and carpet selections, space planning and new office furniture. Initial plans were drawn up by architect Tom Borger.”

Other facts:

  • Three existing tenants were moved and demolition completed before construction began on September 5, 2011. In just 21 days, with a crew of six FM Construction employees, all the framing was completed.

  • Over 22,000 feet of new cabling for high-speed data and high-definition video connectivity was run.

  • Almost 8,500 lineal feet of trim has been masterfully placed throughout the offices – much of it stained cherry.
